PROJECT WORK FOR STUDENT GROUPS

Matahatikita designs and delivers outdoor educational programmes for school groups.

We go everywhere in Indonesia, one-day to six-week expeditions across the islands and progressive programmes through the years. Young people achieve personal and team goals to develop valuable skills for later life such as teamwork, leadership, problem solving and communication; we truly provide a life changing experience!

Matahatikita organizes many educational and exciting events through islands in Indonesia. From Conferences for School Leaders and Expedition Leaders undertaking school trips, fundraising events for challengers to test their teamwork skills and meet like minded young people from overseas or Indonesian it’s self.

Experiential learning allows anyone, whatever their background, whether a student, teacher or employee to develop and learn. Open and guiding relationships help everyone gain and grow with confidence.

Projects

There are a range of options, the majority of which involve living and interacting with local communities in small villages. These are great cultural experiences, and teams will really get to know the locals, their lifestyle and culture. There may also be the opportunity to do some manual labors to support the village.

Rest and Relaxation
Teams also can choose to explore the amazing white sandy beaches for snorkeling or scuba diving. Enjoy pleasant natural hot spring.

Our Expedition

Education through experience is the heart of our philosophy, and our expeditions offer the experience of a lifetime. Packed with physical challenges and eye-opening cultural exchanges in some of the most beautiful islands, these exhilarating expeditions are also journeys of self discovery that benefit young people from all backgrounds

From fundraising and travel preparation to teamwork in the field, “Challengers” will develop skills and gain new insights at every step. For teachers, it is a chance to get to know students outside the classroom and help each one to shine in their turn as a Student Leader.

Launching an expedition at your school or college can be as simple as it is rewarding! We will handle all the details and provide the support to make the adventure a reality.

The students also contribute towards the Government’s “Every Child Matter” and “A Curriculum for Excellence” agendas by enriching and broadening learning experiences, developing independence and the ability to make wise choices, promoting higher self-esteem, self-confidence and a positive approach to learning

After months of planning and fundraising, it’s time to go on your overseas adventure! Your expedition itinerary will vary and action packed. All expeditions are different.

Learning about safety, both their own and other is a crucial life lesson too. We work hard to keep the balance right between maximum challenge and minimal risk. The priority, we place on safety and our highly standard class systems, means that students and teachers can look forward to rewarding, well managed experience.

Safety in the field

A safe expedition starts with a good Expedition Leader, with a balance of qualifications and experience. Many of our Leaders are professional outdoor instructors or members of the uniformed services with extensive expedition training.
